Les Sperling discusses doing well by doing good and describe the practical approach that his substance use treatment agency in Salina, Kansas has taken to catch the wave of health care reorganization to increase revenue and patient flow.  By providing SBIRT services in community hospitals and health centers, Les has put together a very replicable model that answers hospitals need to divert substance using patients from the emergency department, collaboratively manage hospital patients, and reduce readmissions.  Learn about this clinically and financially sustainable program.

Marla Oros and Colleen Hosler from Baltimore show how they has successfully started up SBIRT collaborations between substance use treatment programs and hospitals and health centers.   They take webinar participants through the careful, step-by-step preparation that they use to launch SBIRT programs throughout the Baltimore area.  They share real-world, proven techniques they have used to monitor quality and uptake of SBIRT, and to quickly respond to problems during early phases.
